Dr Yamini Gunasekara

MBBS

Dr Yamini Gunasekara graduated from the University of Kelaniya in 2012. She spent several years working in intensive care in Sri Lanka, developing strong skills in acute and complex patient management before relocating to Australia.

After moving to Tasmania, Dr Gunasekara worked within Tasmanian public hospitals for three and a half years, gaining broad experience across a range of clinical settings. She has since transitioned to general practice, where she enjoys the diversity and continuity of care the specialty offers.

Dr Gunasekara has an interest in all areas of general practice, with particular focus on chronic disease management, women’s health and antenatal care.
