CEO

Dermot joined the Ochre Health Group as CEO in 2016. He has a rare breadth and depth of experience of Australia’s healthcare sector, having worked in a number of executive management roles within some of Australia’s largest healthcare organisations including Medibank. Dermot has championed “The Ochre Way” – creating our Purpose, Vision, Values, we well as the roadmap Ochre Health is following in order to both prosper and also to deliver on our core Purpose of “improving the health of our communities”. A people person in a people business, Dermot understands the key focus in delivering on of these objectives is to operate a patient-centred model of care in partnership with great GPs who are well-supported by a cohesive team of nurses, administration and other staff.

Dr Ross Lamplugh

Co-Founder & Chair

Ross is a co-founding owner of the Ochre Health Group and the Chairman of the Board. Ross brings 20 years of clinical and medical management experience to the company, including 10 years as a GP Anaesthetist in rural and remote Australian communities. He was also the Medical Superintendent for Palm Island Hospital and and Deputy Director of Medical Services at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Ross is actively involved in medical education and is a voluntary Director of APLS courses. He currently sits on the Allied Health Professions – Rural and Remote Generalist Project Advisory Group for HWA, and was previously a Director of the NSW RDN and General Practice Training Tasmania. As Chairman, Ross works closely with the Ochre Health Group leadership team with a particular focus on growth opportunities and on maintaining Ochre’s high level of clinical service.

Dr Hamish Meldrum

Co-Founder & Director

Hamish is a co-founding owner and director of the Ochre Health Group. Hamish is a New Zealand medical graduate with experience in General Practice, Emergency Medicine and Obstetrics. He worked in the Outback town of Bourke in NSW for 5 years as a GP Obstetrician and, since 2006, he has been based in Sydney. He was Ochre Health’s Director of Medical Services until 2020, focusing on clinical governance, quality improvement and running the company’s program around monitoring and reporting on health outcomes. He is still extensively involved in clinical support for doctors across the Ochre Health Group as well as being an examiner for the RACGP Fellowship exam.

Darren Bunis

Darren Bunis

Chief Financial Officer

A chartered accountant, Darren has over 25 years of experience spanning across the financial services and health sectors of public and private companies. Having qualified with EY, and following stints with J.P. Morgan and Abbey National in the UK, Darren moved to Australia to work for CBA before spending seven years as Head of Finance for a major division of Macquarie Group. He was an integral part of Steadfast’s successful IPO in 2013 which included the acquisition of 66 insurance brokers, before moving to oncology provider Genesis Care and then supported property group Domain’s ASX listing. He joined Ochre in 2020 with a brief to both lead Finance and prepare the company for IPO.

Jason Keir

Chief Operating Officer

With 20 years of experience in senior executive roles including at McDonalds Australia and Telstra, Jason has spent the last decade in the healthcare sector. In this time, he has focused on building, growing and improving organisations’ systems, processes and people capabilities across telehealth, occupational medicine, allied health and specialist services areas. As Chief Operating Officer, Jason is responsible for the national management of medical centres and patient care, operationalising “The Ochre Way” to ensure that our clinics are easy to access, friendly to deal with and operating efficiently – every time, every day.

Dr John Hall

Dr John Hall

Director of Medical Services

John joined the Ochre Health Group as Director of Medical Services in 2020. He was previously the owner and Managing Director of Downs Rural Medical, a multi-centre GP practice based on the Darling Downs in Queensland, which merged with Ochre Health at the same time. John is the current President of the Rural Doctors Association of Australia (RDAA), a Fellow of both ACRRM and RACGP, a past president of RDAQ, and he also sits on the AMAQ Board. He is a highly experienced Rural Generalist doctor, holding qualifications in both obstetrics and skin cancer medicine, and he currently provide VMO obstetric services in Cooma in NSW, St George in Queensland and Broome in WA.

Chief Marketing Officer

Sean has over 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, business development and customer experience leadership roles spanning healthcare, professional services and consulting. He is a Fellow and Lifetime Member of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and he has won four AMI Marketing Excellence Awards at national level including the Campaign of the Year. As Chief Marketing Officer, Sean is responsible for marketing strategy and campaigns founded in “The Ochre Way” and supporting both our growth targets and our model of patient-centric care delivered by great GPs.

Caroline Rafferty

Caroline Rafferty

National GP Recruitment & Engagement Manager

Caroline has worked in human resources and talent acquisition for over 15 years, spending the last seven years in the health sector. Before joining Ochre Health, she was Senior Workforce Manager at St Vincent’s Hospital, where she gained a strong understanding of the acute care setting. Prior to that, she worked for Medibank, with a primary focus on staffing the company’s telehealth programs. She joined Ochre in 2019 as National Business Support Manager, before taking on her current role and responsibility for the critical areas of GP recruitment and engagement.

Linda Hamlyn

Linda Hamlyn

National Practice Support Manager

A registered nurse by background, Linda has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare sector. She worked as a nurse and a nurse educator in various major hospitals in and around Brisbane before joining Medibank Health Solutions in 2012. There she led the Resource Nurse Team before becoming Practice Manager for Nurse Triage Operations and then Head of Mental Health. She joined Ochre Health as a Regional Manager in 2017. In her current role, she leads a team focused on improving the support, skills and performance of medical centres and people across the organisation.

Melissa Rixon

Melissa Rixon

Regional Manager, ACT, Southern NSW & Victoria

Before moving to the healthcare sector, Melissa spent 20 years in retail and consumer goods in a wide variety of commercial, divisional, regional and product management roles. These included stints with David Jones, Sheridan, premium brand importer/distributor Sheldon and Hammond, Luxottica and Coles Supermarkets. She joined Ochre Health in 2017 with responsibility for our fast-growing network of medical centres in the ACT, where we partner with over 75 doctors, and our rural and regional practices in Southern NSW and Victoria.

Nicky Pollington

Nicky Pollington

Regional Manager, Tasmania

Nicky has over 20 years of experience working in rural and remote areas across Australia as well as in Uganda, Zambia and Cyprus. A geologist by background and with a strong focus on leadership throughout her career, she worked in a range of industries including mining and construction before moving into healthcare, and she remains a non-executive director of engineering and environmental consultancy pitt&sherry. She joined Ochre in 2020 with responsibility for managing our Tasmanian practice network as well as our mainland practices that run local hospital emergency departments.
