General practice

All doctors practising in an Ochre medical centre have gained broad experience and undergone training in hospitals and metropolitan, regional or remote general practices. This enables them to take a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to all things general practice. We support them in remaining up-to-date with the latest developments in medicine through our commitment to career-long learning.

So whether you have a skin rash or a stomach bug, we can help.

Most of us get our car serviced and checked regularly – shouldn’t you do the same for your health? At Ochre Health, we like to take a proactive approach to keeping you healthy, rather than taking a reactive approach as issues arise. Talk to your doctor about a check-up relevant to your current stage in life.

Our nurses and the doctors practising with us can help carry out these assessments to help identify potential health issues. Medicare rebates are available for:

  • A one-off assessment for people aged 45-49 who are at risk of developing chronic diseases
  • Annual assesments for people aged over 75

The doctors practising at Ochre Health can assist you in assessing and managing the risk of developing diabetes in the future.

We can provide an electrocardiogram (ECG) to record the electrical activity of your heart over a period of time using electrodes placed on your body to assist with diagnosis and monitoring.

Almost half of all Australians aged 16 to 85 will experience mental illness at some point in their lives. We can assist with a broad range of mental health issues, referring you to other specialists if needed and ensuring strict confidentiality is always maintained.

These are usually reserved for the elderly and the very sick. Requests for home visits should be made before 10am. Visits to nursing homes, hospitals and hostels can also be arranged. Home visits are made only at the doctor’s discretion.
