Luke Howard

Luke Howard discovered his passion for physiotherapy through a lifelong love of sports and physical health. His journey began with athletics and playing both rugby codes during his teens and twenties, later transitioning to tennis and water-based sports.

Luke initially earned a degree in Exercise Science before completing a Master’s in Physiotherapy at Sydney University in 2004. Over the past 20 years, he has continually expanded his knowledge through professional development courses, including Kinetic Strength Training, McKenzie Spinal Assessment and Classification, Watson Headache, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and advanced sports physiotherapy training.

Dedicated to enhancing his expertise in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, Luke successfully achieved Australian Physiotherapy Association Sports Titling. This rigorous process included completing the Level 3 Sports Physio course at the Australian Institute of Sport, a testament to his advanced clinical skills in managing sports-related injuries.

Luke is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of physiotherapists. He regularly supervises students throughout the year and has spent five years lecturing and tutoring in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Orange.

Special areas of interest include tendon and knee pain, postural dysfunction, and headaches, Luke has a unique ability to explain complex conditions in relatable, easy-to-understand terms. As a father of three, he connects effortlessly with younger patients and their families.

Luke is a part-owner of Bathurst Physiotherapy, the largest private practice in the Central West, alongside his colleagues John and Jon. Outside of work, he enjoys hands-on projects like building, cooking in his homemade pizza oven, and unwinding with craft beer while cheering on his beloved Canberra Raiders.
