Dr George Zhang

MchD, PhB (Hons)

Dr Zhang is an alumnus of the Australian National University (ANU), where he first secured a Bachelor of Philosophy with first class Honours and subsequently, a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree. His tenure at emergency departments of renowned hospitals, including the Canberra Hospital, Calvary Hospital, as well as his time as Medical Director of the Canberra Urgent Care Clinic and and Emergency Medicine CMO at Queanbeyan District Hospital in Southern NSW has endowed him with invaluable experience.

Dr Zhang, and his lovely wife, have chosen to relocate to Brewarrina to build on his experience as an emergency clinician to complete his fellowship pathway to become a specialist General Practitioner with both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote medicine. Dr Zhang emphasises a patient-centric approach, ensuring bespoke healthcare solutions tailored to the community’s unique requirements.

In his spare time, Dr George is a keen academic and has published five peer-reviewed papers. George is looking forward to meeting everyone in the Brewarrina community.
