Dr Christian Hughes

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Hughes describes himself as a late starter to medicine: following school, he first studied massage therapy and worked in this field before commencing his medical degree at Melbourne University. He went on to complete his internship and residency years with Eastern Health.

Dr Hughes had always wanted to work as a GP and locumed up the east coast, settling for some years in the Coffs Harbour area. Here, he completed his FRACGP training and worked in a local skin cancer clinic to diversify his skills.

Fast forward a few years and Dr Hughes and his wife had three kids and a yearning to be closer to family in Melbourne. Seeking a rural lifestyle not too far from the city, the family relocated to Warrnambool, where Dr Hughes began practice with Ochre in 2013.

Outside of work, Dr Hughes loves the outdoors, spearfishing, fishing, hunting, camping and musical instruments.
