Dr Alessandra De Marco has been a GP here at Grant Street Clinic since 2006. She has experience and offers medical care over the full spectrum of General Practice, including Paediatrics, Obstetrics (Shared care), Women’s Health (including Implanon insertion/removal and Cervical Screening) Geriatric Medicine, Palliative Care and Mental Health. She also visits and provides care for patients who are residents in the St Andrews, Crowley and RSL Lifecare Hostels & Nursing Homes.
Dr De Marco grew up in Perth and after completing a Commerce degree, travelled and then lived in London on a working holiday. During this time, she worked as a Medical Receptionist in several London Hospitals, becoming passionate about Medicine and patient care, and subsequently returned to Perth to complete her medical degree at the University of WA. She and her husband Nick have been in the Northern Rivers since 2005, are here long term, and have two children.
When not working, she enjoys gardening, kayaking and rainforest regeneration.
