Dr Janet Coleman

BMed, FRACGP

Dr Janet Coleman graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1989. She completed internship at St. George Hospital in Kogarah, and residency Royal Newcastle and John Hunter Hospitals in Newcastle.

She commenced general practice in Raymond Terrace and Merewether, Newcastle, in 1992 and continued with these positions until relocation to the far North Coast in 2001. Whilst at Raymond Terrace she ran a weekly skin clinic excising skin cancers. Whilst in Newcastle she assisted local plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr John Newton for a total of 12 years in the private hospital system.

She completed her FRACGP in 1997, and commenced general practice with Dr Christopher Jambor in Ballina at Grant Street Clinic in 2003. Her current interests are in women’s health, skin and surgical issues. She continues to surgically assist in orthopaedics and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Her outside interests are family, gardening and a menagerie of animals.
