Dr Justin Carter
Dr Justin Carter
Having grown up locally, Dr Justin Carter is very excited to be able to work closely with the people of Ballina and broader Northern Rivers community.
Prior to medicine Justin worked in Ballina as a radiographer and sonographer. He then completed his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle, before working as a junior doctor at Lismore Base Hospital which has given him an in depth knowledge of the local health landscape and close working relationships with the local specialists.
Justin completed his GP training in 2023 which included advanced rural skills in paediatrics and child health. He enjoys all aspects of general practice including preventative medicine, paediatrics, men’s health, chronic disease management including diabetes and Aboriginal Health. His favourite part of general practice is the close relationships with patients which allow him to educate and empower them, so they can better manage their own health.
Outside of medicine, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and four young children, golf and travelling.
