Dr Ben Brushett

Doctor of Medicine

Dr Ben Brushett has is a new member of the Huonville clinic, having recently relocated to Tasmania from the Gold Coast to undertake his GP specialty training. Ben completed his Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University, Gold Coast and enjoyed two years working at Gold Coast University Hospital. He gained broad experience across multiple specialties and within the emergency department. He also completed several rural placements, including the western Queensland town of Roma and in North Queensland’s Mareeba. Ben’s rural and remote placements have equipped him with relevant skills to service smaller communities, and have given him a keen interest in practicing outside of the major centres. Ben has a broad interest in all areas of general practice.

Prior to medicine, Ben completed his undergraduate studies in Coastal Engineering and went on to achieve a PhD in Oceanography and Maritime Search & Rescue. Outside of work he enjoys getting outdoors – hiking, fishing and being out on the water. Ben and his wife are looking forward to welcoming their first child later this year and raising their family in southern Tasmania.
