Dr Anita Manger
MBBS, BPharm, DCH, FRACGP
Dr Anita Manger obtained her medical degree from Flinders University in Adelaide, graduating in 2014 before settling with her husband in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
She started her professional life practicing as a pharmacist before commencing her medical studies and this has provided a sound knowledge base to move into General Practice. She is currently in the final stages of her fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Manger enjoys all domains of General Practice and caring for patients holistically across their lifespan, and believes good communication is an important part of this.
She has a special interest in women’s health and paediatrics and has completed a Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney in 2017.
Other areas of special interest include the care of mothers and their babies. She recently completed her accreditation in Neuroprotective Developmental Care, also known as ‘the Possums program’. This is an integrated approach assisting families with issues around breastfeeding, sleep, unsettled infant behaviour and maternal mental health challenges.
Dr Manger is also a member of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, an exciting field using evidence-based lifestyle interventions in areas such as nutrition, physical activity and stress reduction to treat disease and promote good health.
Outside of work, she is kept busy caring for her young family and enjoys exercise, time in nature, cooking, reading and talking to her pet chooks.
