Dr Akshayalakshmi Vijayaraghavalu (Lakshmi) was born in India, and completed her medical studies at Nanjing Medical University, China, graduating in 2011.

Lakshmi emigrated to Australia in 2015, and worked at St John Of God Hospital in Perth and Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital in Western Australia before moving to Mackay Base Hospital, Queensland. She has worked extensively in emergency medicine and holds a special interest in obstetrics and gynaecology – she is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as well as having worked in a women’s fertility research centre whilst in India.
