Simon was born and raised in Scotland, prior to travelling and living internationally for two years working for an NGO. He read English as an undergraduate prior to deciding to become a doctor. In 2012 he emigrated to Australia and spent two years working in a tertiary level emergency department in Adelaide before relocating to the Sunshine Coast where he worked in psychiatry for nearly five years prior to commencing training with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine in 2020 to become a GP. He enjoys whacking a tennis ball, yoga, working out, reading, writing, and eating curry. He is studying a dual Master of Public Health and Master of Health Management and Leadership in all his spare time.
