Dr Rebecca Kathage gained her Bachelor of Medical Science (ANU) in 2004 before completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2009 from the University of Queensland. She then completed her internship at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and completed her residency at The Canberra Hospital, including rural terms in both Cooma and Goulburn. She has worked in general practice within the Canberra area since 2012.

Dr Kathage enjoys all aspects of general practice. She has special interests in general paediatrics, mental health, chronic disease, refuge health (currently working one session at Companion House weekly) and lifestyle medicine. She has completed research in the field of obesity management with the Academic Unit of General Practice and has SCOPE (Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education) accreditation for the core learning path and is working towards full SCOPE certification.

Procedures include, but not limited to: minor skin procedures, Implanon insertion and removal, wart management, cervical screening tests, iron infusions

Currently not offered: Full skin checks (2-3 spot checks are offered)

When not practicing medicine Dr Kathage enjoys spending time in and around Canberra with her husband and three young boys, including gardening, sport, and bush walking.
