Dr Matthew Roberts
Dr Matthew Roberts
BMed, FRACGP
Dr Roberts arrived in medicine via a circuitous life route, with his early years in PNG and later schooling and university studies in the UK.
He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Natural Sciences and then spent time in various jobs including a stint teaching English in Morocco. He then decided to try his hand at medicine, graduating from the University of Southampton in 2008. He has been a GP since 2013.
In the UK he was involved in ‘admissions avoidance’ which involved working in partnership with older patients, managing their chronic medical conditions and maintaining their independence at home. As well as general medicine he also has interests in elderly care and otolaryngology.
Dr Roberts moved from the UK with his wife and two young daughters to Melbourne in April 2017. His family decided to relocate to the warmer climes of New South Wales later that year and he began practicing with Ochre Medical Centre Grafton in late 2017.
Outside of medicine he spends most of his time running after his young daughters, trying to keep them out of trouble. Dr Roberts enjoys spending time with family, walking, badminton, outdoor recreation and travel.
