Dr Chandima Hathurusingha (Dr Chandy)

MBBS, MRCGP, MD (Clinical Nutrition), MSc (Human Nutrition)

Chandy is a General Practitioner with over 15 years of clinical experience. She obtained her MBBS from the Faculty of Medicine Colombo, Sri Lanka and earned the doctorate in Clinical Nutrition from the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo. She has completed formal specialist training in general practice overseas and is pursuing Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP). She has a special interest in obesity and weight management and is SCOPE certified in obesity treatment by the World Obesity Federation. She is also a member of the National Association of Clinical Obesity Services (NACOS) and passionate about managing weight issues with a non- judgmental holistic approach.

Her special interests include chronic disease management, mental health and women’s health. She believes that women’s health at all life stages require specific care and attention.

Outside of medicine, Chandy enjoys singing and spending quality time with her family.
