Dr Susan Evans
MD
Working in Primary Care can be a privilege, an opportunity for partnership with patients to optimize their healthcare goals. My experiences since earning an MD at the University of Queensland in 2019 have enhanced my ability to teach patients how to take charge of their healthcare choices. I believe it’s never too late to take ownership of your health, know your medications, know why you take them, and be even a wee bit inquisitive as to which ones you might be capable of ceasing.
Those that know me understand why I have ‘keep moving’ in bold letters on the wall of my consultation room. I have a deep respect for the environment and I love biking and walking.
I’ve been a GP Registrar with RVTS, a wonderful training and support program designed to retain doctors in rural communities where doctors too often come and go. I have made Parkes my home for the past year and a half and will continue to emphasize disease prevention here.
When I’m not working, biking, or walking, you can find me embracing a decaf cappuccino and a good book at a local cafe.
