Dr Richard Hays began clinical practice as a Rural Medical Generalist (primary care plus procedural Obstetrics) in smaller communities in QLD, after training in Tasmania and Queensland.

Alongside an academic career he has continued part-time clinical practice, mostly in regional/rural settings in Australia (Queensland and Tasmania) and with the NHS while working in the UK. He has substantial experience across the full range of primary care medicine and understands well the challenges and needs of people living and working in rural communities.
