Dr Ruth Louise Stevenson

Dr Stevenson graduated from the University of Manchester, UK in 2000. She worked as a medical registrar before travelling with her husband and working in Melbourne in emergency medicine. Returning to the UK, she became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and worked in palliative care and chronic disease management.

Returning to Australia for a second time in 2012, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a supervisor for GP registrars.

Dr Stevenson considers herself a true generalist, thriving on the diversity of general practice and the global and holistic care of all. She has completed an advanced communication skills course, mental health training and a diploma in family and sexual health, to name a few.

A particular recent interest is the role of medicinal cannabis, especially in the management of chronic pain, epilepsy, anxiety and behavioural issues. Dr Stevenson is setting up her medicinal marijuana clinic and welcomes all new patients in this exciting new field.
