Dr Melissa Brown
Dr Melissa Brown
BHSc, MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Brown completed her medical degree at University of Sydney in 2005. She has always practiced medicine in the Illawarra and began practicing with the Thirroul practice in 2011.
Dr Brown chose to work in General Practice for the challenges and rewards, she wanted to work with the community, getting to know patients and their families rather than in a hospital environment. It is the only field of medicine where the Doctor can be involved in all aspects of health care – from the first week of life, right up until the end of life. “Every day I feel grateful for the opportunities I have had which have resulted in a career in General Practice”.
Dr Brown has a special interest in sexual and reproductive health including providing early medical abortion, IUD and implanon insertions and gender affirming healthcare.
