Dr Paul Hughes

Dr Paul Hughes obtained his medical degree at the University of Tasmanian and then spent 2 years at Darwin Hospital. He then moved to England where he underwent further training in a Diploma of Child Heath, and a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Returning to Tasmania to pursue his career as a GP, he spent 15 years providing care in suburban Hobart.
Dr Hughes also has experience in emergency care, from his two and a half year placement at a regional hospital in Newfoundland, Canada. He was required to complete the LMCC (basic Canadian medical degree) as part of this work.
Dr Hughes moved to Canberra in 2000, and has been applying his breadth of experience and knowledge to provide the best care to his ACT patients ever since. He prides himself in remaining interested in all areas of general practice and being able to treat any problems his patients may bring him.
