Dr Uma Selvanathan

Dr Uma Selvanathan initially moved to the Northern Rivers in 2015 and completed her GP training locally. She grew up in Singapore, completed high school in Canada, did her undergraduate degrees in the United States and lived in Sydney for medical school. She recently spent over 3 years in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory and is delighted to be back home in the Northern Rivers.

She sees patients of all ages and stages. Dr Selvanathan enjoys preventative health care focusing on patient-centred pathways for long term health and wellness. She has a “health at every size” approach to providing care. She also enjoys managing all types of chronic conditions, travel medicine, acute conditions, womens’ health and is evidence-based in her care. She has a special interest in Womens’ health; she provides comprehensive contraceptive care including IUD and Implanon insertions and removals. She attended the International Menopause Society conference in 2024 and has undertaken further training in menopause management. She is still active in Medical Education to support GP trainees.

At this time, Dr Selvanathan does not offer ADHD management. She also does not prescribe medications of dependence such as opioids or benzodiazepines.

 

Dr Selvanathan is a private billing doctor and does not bulk bill.
