Dr Wiles began practising at what was then Sharp Street Surgery in 1991.
After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney, he undertook further training in rural NSW. Dr Wiles spent another five years of post-graduate training in England, gaining his Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in London.
One of his interests is in teaching and learning, having been very involved with the training of GP registrars since 1993. Since 2006 he has held an appointment as a Senior Lecturer in the ANU Rural Clinical School as well as the Academic Co-ordinator for the Monaro Region.
