Dear Patients,

It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Ochre Kingston. It was a privilege to care for you, to bear witness to the ups and downs that life can bring. Thank you for your patience during those long wait times to see me. I am the doctor that I am today because of you. You have expanded my heart over the years and made me realise we are more similar as human beings than different and how far a little bit of kindness can go in our day to day.

I have been juggling being a GP and a Medical Advisor for the Government for the last several years and unfortunately I can no longer keep all the balls in the air. There were many days that I felt I was failing at both, trying to meet legislative/project deadlines in the early hours of the morning and trying to follow up with results before and after another essentially full time job. For now, I know I am needed elsewhere. I wish I did not have to choose and I will always be sorry for leaving your care to someone else… But rest assured my colleagues will take good care of you (they promised!).

I hope to see you around Canberra and maybe one day I will care for you  again in another point in time. Take care and know in the river of life, the current may change but we always have a choice to  float, swim or  splash around.
