The district is also close to the pastoral scenery of southern ACT, with several historic estates in the area including the Tuggeranong homestead – a popular location for weddings, events, and the home of the Tuggeranong Homestead markets.

Big city amenities ...
Australia’s capital city, Canberra boasts a number of nationally and culturally significant monuments and institutions such as the National Portrait Gallery, Australian Institute of Sport, the University of Canberra, the Royal Australian Mint, the National Gallery, Parliament House, and the Australian War Memorial.
... without the big city hassle
Canberra stands alone among Australia’s cities for its lush garden-city inspired boulevards and geometric design motifs. Designed by celebrated American architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin, the city’s layout makes it one of Australia’s most livable places.
Known as a “twenty minute city”, Canberra’s relative lack of congestion and abundance of public transport options makes commuting a painless affair.
Educational opportunities
Canberra’s education offerings include a broad range of both public and private schools that are highly regarded. Canberra boasts an above average number of excellent tertiary institutions including The University of Canberra, the Australian Institute of Sport and the Australian National University among others.
A sports mecca
Canberra also offers a strong active lifestyle – the wide and meandering Lake Burley Griffin is used heavily for rowing and boating, and the many car-free avenues and parks make it friendlier than most cities to bike traffic. Mountain bikers are spoilt for choice, with nearby trails includes Mt Stromlo, Majura Pines and Kowen Forest. Meanwhile, both Perisher and Thredbo are a 2.5h drive away for a quick ski trip.
