The Opportunity

VR GP VMO FIFO Relief Cover at Ochre Medical Centre Brewarrina

We are looking for an experienced VR GP VMO to partner with Ochre Health practice in Brewarrina. This opportunity is created to provide relief cover to an existing doctor who is currently in town. As a doctor in this small town you will be able to focus on comprehensive medicine for all your patients. You’ll be working across both the GP clinic and MPS hospital (GP VMO) with Ochre Health as your services and support provider.

At the hospital you will provide 24/7 on-call cover for emergencies. Given the small population, presentation levels are low and manageable whilst servicing the general practice. After 6pm Monday to Friday, you would only be on call for CAT 1 & 2 presentations with CAT 3-5 presentations managed by the Western NSW LHD VRGS team to give you a break. In terms of beds at the hospital it has 3 emergency, 8 acute beds with a small 12 bed residential aged care and renal dialysis ward. The General practice is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 4:30pm.

Ochre Health is one of Australia’s leading General Practice organisations. Founded in 2002 by Dr Hamish Meldrum and Dr Ross Lamplugh in the NSW outback town of Bourke, Ochre is the only General Practice organisation in all MMM areas, from metro to remote Australia. Ochre now supports over 450 doctors, including 90 registrars.
