Dr Gillian Cairney
Dr Gillian Cairney
MBChB, MRCGP
Dr Gillian Cairney completed her medical degree in Scotland in 2012. Following this, Gillian travelled to Australia, where she devoted over two years to working primarily in the emergency department at Gympie Hospital, Queensland. She found the diverse range of medical conditions intriguing and considered herself fortunate to have gained such invaluable experience both professionally and personally during her time in Australia.
Commencing her GP training in Scotland in 2015, Dr Cairney relished the opportunity to work across various medical specialties throughout her training. She successfully completed her GP training in West Lothian, Scotland, in March 2020. Following this, she embarked on a one-year tenure as a GP locum at Kenilworth Medical Practice in Cumbernauld. Subsequently, she took on a salaried position at the same practice for the following two years.
Dr Cairney and her family have now made the decision to relocate permanently to Australia.
