Dr O’Connor graduated in 2006 from University College Cork, Ireland.
He worked for several years within the hospital system, first at Cork University Hospital and after emigrating to Australia, at Nambour General Hospital in Queensland.
Dr O’Connor also spent several years in the Northern Territory where he worked extensively in indigenous health and rural and remote general practice.
In his spare time, Dr O’Connor enjoys travelling, cycling, walking and hiking.
