The Opportunity

Ochre Health Lightning Ridge is a fantastic location where you can utilize both your ED and GP Primary Care skills. At this clinic you will working across the GP primary care clinic and covering the Multi Purpose Service ED. As a GP VMO, one will look after GP consults, CDM, on-call responsibilities for ED, inpatients and aged care.

Ochre Health is one of Australia’s leading General Practice organisations. Founded in 2002 by Dr Hamish Meldrum and Dr Ross Lamplugh in the NSW outback town of Bourke, Ochre is the only General Practice organisation in all MMM areas, from metro to remote Australia. Ochre now supports over 450 doctors, including 90 registrars

  • Mixture of Primary Care and Hospital ED
  • Flexible no lock-in contracts, you can decide how long or short you stay
  • Incentive payment of $25k paid on start date
  • 65% of billings at the practice
  • On-call daily rate of $2,000 at the hospital (1:3 model)
  • Supported by highly trained CDM Nurses and support staff
  • Onsite allied health plus visiting specialists
  • Accommodation + car + fuel card are provided to GP VMO

With all on offer, we further provide doctors with full autonomy and flexible working arrangements. Doctors also bill at their discretion, whether that be bulk bill or private bill.
