Escape the rat race. Embrace the (moonscape) pace.
If you’re an experienced Rural GP VMO who’s ever thought, “Gee, I’d love to live somewhere with both a mining legacy and a World Heritage Wilderness Area,” then Queenstown, Tasmania is calling your name.
Our purpose-built Medical Centre is so close to the local hospital and aged care facility, you could throw a stethoscope and hit it (please don’t). We’ve got room for three full-time doctors, a fantastic CDM-trained RN, admin support who actually support you, and visiting Allied Health professionals who bring the skills and banter.
Oh, and you’ll be working alongside an experienced GP/VMO – a true legend who knows every story, and strong coffee spot in town.
What’s in it for you (besides daily mountain views)?
- Flexible, no lock-in contracts – stay for a season or settle for good. No strings, no guilt-trips
- Sign-on bonus – because we know your time is valuable
- Lucrative on-call VMO rates – supplement your income while still getting sleep
- Target earnings around $400k
- Annual government grants – yes, the government pays you
- DPA location – tick that box!
- Eligible for RVTS, ACRRM independent pathway, or RGTS – because paperwork should open doors, not close them
- Moratorium schmatorium – significant reduction applies
- Accommodation & car provided – yes, really
We respect your autonomy. Whether you want to work part-time, full-time, or “only Mondays when Mercury’s in retrograde,” we’ll make it work.
The Location:
Queenstown is what happens when Mother Nature and the mining boom have a complicated relationship. It’s rugged, raw, and quietly beautiful. Population: ~1800. Personality: Infinite.
You’ll find:
- Fishing lakes for peace and patient-free zones
- Lookouts and museums for days off
- Nearby Strahan (40 mins) for boat cruises, wilderness trains, and great seafood
- Zero traffic. Zero stress
So, if you’re ready to trade chaos for calm, and high-rises for highlands, give us a bell or shoot an email.
