Big skies. Two income streams. Zero micromanaging.
If you’re an experienced Rural Generalist who wants to feel genuinely valued – both professionally and financially – we’d love to welcome you to Ochre Health Medical Centre Scottsdale, just an hour from Launceston (read: rural enough for peace and purpose, close enough for a weekend city fix).
We’ve got a purpose-built, well-equipped facility with all the bells, whistles, and emergency trolleys. Think five consult rooms, a three-bay treatment room, procedure room, and on-site pathology. The kind of place where rural generalism still feels like real medicine.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work across the Scottsdale Hospital — 19 beds, emergency and outpatient services, low-risk maternity, physio, radiology, and more. In other words: a proper rural VMO gig with all the variety you signed up for.

The Location:
Set in Tasmania’s stunning northeast, Scottsdale is a friendly farming community with fresh air, fresh produce, and a seriously underrated café scene. You’re just down the road from vineyards, mountain bike trails (hello, Derby), and the East Coast beaches.
There’s a strong sense of community here — one that’ll welcome you in, and probably send you home with a basket of homegrown veggies after your first week.
What You’ll Need:
- AHPRA General or Specialist Registration
- ALS2 certificate + recent emergency experience (within 18 months)
- An adventurous spirit and solid coffee-making skills (or a willingness to learn)
