Life in Sippy Downs

The Sunshine Coast region is the jewel in Queensland’s tourism crown, with approximately 300,000 international visitors annually – to say nothing of the droves of Australians who visit for some down-time by the beach or just to thaw out during the winter months.

Sippy Downs is a serene, family-friendly suburb located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Settled between Mooloolah National Park and the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens, the suburb is surrounded by lush subtropical greenery. Pristine, enticing blue lakes are dotted across the area, and provide the perfect setting for weekend picnics, and waterside activities. Kayaking, canoeing and boating down the tranquil Mooloolah River are also popular water-based pastimes, and Sippy Downs is just minutes away from Mooloolabah, a popular spot for swimming, surfing, and relaxing in the sun by the sea.

Sippy Downs is also home to Australia’s newest university: The University of the Sunshine Coast. The establishment of the university in 1996 has facilitated steady growth and development in the suburb, and today Sippy downs is considered to be a ‘university town’ – home to a vibrant, dynamic, and creative community. Sippy Downs is the ideal location for anyone looking for quiet, suburban comfort that doesn’t stray too far from the breath-taking beauty of Queensland’s native flora and fauna, and coastal charm.
