Dr BT Martin is an Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine registrar, having started his rural medicine training in New Zealand before moving to Australia in 2023. Growing up in the Canadian Prairies, he first studied theology, then psychology, completing his doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. After a career in adult mental health he retrained in medicine, completing his MBBS at Otago University in their rural immersion programme. His areas of interest include rural medicine, mental health, obstetrics, and emergency medicine. Away from medicine he enjoys tramping, kayaking, and travel.
