Carsten completed his medical degree in his native Germany in 2002. He qualified as a GP in 2008, winning the English RCGP Registrar of the Year award that year. Before joining Augusta Road in 2021, he enjoyed a varied career, including positions in general practice, addiction medicine, medical administration, research, teaching and training in the UK and Australia. He is an accredited GP trainer and uses AI to help with clinical documentation.
