Dr Madelein Cronje

Dr Madelein Cronje graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1988 and worked as General Practitioner for 25 years before relocating to Australia.

Her experience as General Practitioner ranges from initially piloting care models for patients in disadvantaged rural areas by establishing and servicing medical clinics, dedicated to change the health outcomes of families in remote locations in Mpumalanga, South Africa, including involvement in research to manage chronic Bilharzia infection in rural communities.

She also has extensive experience in general practice in urban settings and is enjoying applying that in the Australian context. Dr Cronje has worked in Caloundra since 2017 and has a broad interest in all aspects of general practice care based on compassion and caring for the patient as a whole. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
