Dr Cooper graduated from Leicester University in 1987. He completed a Medical Rotation prior to  General Practice Training which included gaining experience in General Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry.

He emigrated to Australia in 2001 and worked as a Civilian Medical Officer in Darwin where he worked as one of the Senior Medical Officers for 10 years. Here he developed experience in working within the ADF. He moved to Grafton as a General Practitioner in 2011, working at Ochre’s first GP Superclinic where he became the Medical Coordinator. He relocated to Bonnells Bay in 2023 for family reasons where he has worked ever since.

His main areas of interest and experience in the field of General Practice is in Chronic Disease Management including Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Respiratory Medicine, as well as teaching GP Registrars and Medical Students. Dr Cooper has also trained in Skin Cancer Medicine and has an  Advanced Diploma in Skin Cancer Medicine

Dr Cooper enjoys Gardening, playing the trumpet and is trying to learn piano, and has recently become a Grandfather
