Dr Alex Lapenga is a dedicated and experienced medical professional with over 13 years of practice as a rural General Practitioner in North Queensland. During this time, he has managed a wide variety of medical presentations, with a particular focus on General Practice and the treatment of varicose veins. He was fortunate to work at the Cairns Skin Centre for 7 years.
Alongside his clinical work, Alex has obtained three Post graduate Degrees including a Masters in public health, a Master in health management and a Post Graduate Diploma Occupational Medicine from MONASH University. He has been a medical educator and clinical educator with the Australian College of Rural Medicine. He has trained with the Australian College of Phlebology where he trained in the treatment of varicose and spider veins.
In his current vein practice, he perform Endovenous Laser Ablation, Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy, and Microsclerotherapy. He is eager to continue learning about the latest advancements in the treatment of varicose veins.
