Dr Alex Lapenga is a specialist General Practitioner and Fellow of the Australian College of Rural And Remote Medicine (FACRRM). Before deciding to call Canberra home, he worked in General Practice in North Queensland for over 12 years, gaining experience in diverse areas of medicine, including: Skin Cancer Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Dr Lapenga is a Medical Educator and Clinical Educator with ACRRM, and is directly involved in training and mentoring GP registrars who are working to achieve their specialist qualifications.

Dr Lapenga has trained with the Australasian College of Phlebology to become a Certified Sclerotherapist. He has a special interest in the non-surgical treatment of venous diseases of the lower limb, particularly varicose veins. Additionally, Dr Lapenga has trained and gained experience in the use of lasers to treat a broad range of skin presentations.

Outside of work, Dr Lapenga enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and playing his guitar and piano.
