FRACGP, FACRRM, FARGP, Grad Dip (Rural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health)

Dr Baker graduated from the University of Queensland in 2000 before completing his general practice training in various locations across Far North Queensland. He worked in Mareeba in an Aboriginal medical service for 13 years before beginning his practice at Ochre Medical Centre Noosa in 2017.

He returns to Mareeba to work a few weeks every year. His work in rural Queensland has given him particular experience with tropical and infectious diseases, prisoner and men’s health, mental health, substance abuse, chronic disease and child health.

Dr Baker is an experienced trainer of junior doctors and also works in a part time training role with the Remote Vocational Training Scheme.

He enjoys cooking, reading, playing cricket and watching his kids play any kind of sport. He and his wife have been proud and enthusiastic foster carers for around 10 years.
