David is a local, having grown up and schooled in Newcastle and later trained in medicine at the University of Newcastle.
After moving away soon after graduation to specialise in general practice and working in a range of settings, including a 20 year period on the Mid North Coast, David moved back to Newcastle in 2017 to take up university appointment at the Faculty of Medicine whilst continuing GP work.
David continues to enjoy all aspects of general practice. He’s a keen advocate for his patients and practises evidence-based medicine. Particular areas of interest include general medicine, medical ethics, dermatology, men’s health and locum work in regional and remote settings.
David works 3 days to allow room for alternative passions which include cycling, small swell surfing and old rotary Mazdas.
