Dr Parakilas graduated from the University of Sydney in 1989 and became a Fellow of the College of General Practice in 1998.
She moved to Cooma in 1997 and commenced her practice at Sharp Street Surgery.
Having always had an interest in women’s health, she pursued this through a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Health through Monash University and a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health from Family Planning ACT.
Dr Parakilas now practices in the area of women’s health and sexual health, offering appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as a walk-in clinic (no appointment needed) on Monday afternoons at 182 Sharp Street, predominantly for contraception and STI screening.
She is married to Brian and has three adult children. Her family background is Greek and she loves the ethnic diversity in Cooma.
