Dr Ishara Jayaweera

Dr Ishara Jayaweera is a warm and compassionate General Practitioner with nine years of clinical experience across general practice and hospital medicine in Sri Lanka. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and is particularly passionate about supporting women, children and families through every stage of life.

With extensive experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr Ishara has a strong interest in women’s health, including reproductive health, contraception, antenatal and postnatal care, and preventive screening. Her clinical background also includes paediatric care, chronic disease management, emergency medicine, anaesthesia and minor procedures. Her anaesthetic and acute-care experience contributes to her calm, careful approach when managing urgent presentations and performing procedures.

Dr Ishara believes that good healthcare begins with listening. She takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain medical information clearly and develop practical, individualised care plans. Her approach is respectful, holistic and collaborative, helping patients feel comfortable, informed and actively involved in decisions about their health.

Outside medicine, Dr Ishara enjoys spending time with her family, reading, travelling and cooking.
