Dr Jonathan Bala received his M.B.B.S. from the National University of Singapore in 2005. He completed various hospital rotations before starting out in General Practice in 2011. He moved to Australia in 2015 and has continued to work as a general practitioner, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australia College of General Practitioners in 2020.
Dr Bala enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a particular interest in chronic disease management, skin cancer treatment and musculoskeletal medicine. He has undergone additional training in skin cancer management – he has obtained his Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine in 2016, Professional Certificate of Dermoscopy in 2018, Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery in 2020 and Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery in 2024.
Dr Bala runs a skin check clinic every Thursday.
Dr Bala is able to perform most skin cancer excisions including skin flaps and grafts and is happy to do other simple procedures such as removal of lipomas and sebaceous cysts.
Billing for the skin checks will be in line with Ochre’s billing policy (ie. bulk billed for pensioners, standard consultation fees for other patients). There will be a gap fee for any procedures or excisions that will be discussed.
