Dr. M. Saidul Islam completed his medical degree in 1996 from Sylhet M. A. G. Osmani Medical College. He worked for a few months in Bangladesh before moving to Sydney to study Masters in Geriatric Medicine at the University of New South Wales in July 2001. Immediately after completing the course, Dr. Islam started working as a RMO at War Memorial Hospital Waverley, Sydney, before obtaining his AMC certificate. He continued to work at NSW Central Coast Health in different specialties before moving to Canberra in 2015 to start working as a non-VR GP at Winnunga Aboriginal Health Services.

Saidul then gradually finished his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has a special interest in Aged Care, Focused Psychological Strategies for managing Mental Health issues, Family Health, and Hep C/Liver disease management. He is married to his wife Lubna, with whom he has two daughters, and enjoys traveling, family time, and watching sports in his leisure time.
