Dr Peter Rizzo began his medical career in emergency medicine at Level 1 trauma centres in New York City. Nearly two decades ago, he relocated to Australia, where he continued his work in tertiary facilities. Seeking a change from city life and its challenges, he transitioned to rural and remote medicine, including serving with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Port Hedland, WA.
Dr Rizzo’s career highlights include an unforgettable year as a station doctor in Antarctica. Now training as a general practitioner registrar, he is eager to reconnect with patients and rediscover the art of medicine.
