Dr Gaiger studied at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom where he graduated from Medical School in 2013. Prior to this, he obtained a primary degree in Biology and Biochemistry. Dr Richard moved to Australia in 2015 where he initially worked mainly in emergency medicine in hospitals across Queensland before completing his specialist GP training in Boyne Island.

Outside of medicine, Dr Gaiger enjoys travel, plays soccer on the weekends and is a keen golfer.
