Andrew Gallagher

Physiotherapist

Andrew is providing Physiotherapy services at The Creswick Medical Centre on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.

Andrew has been practising for over 30 years and offers a broad range of Physiotherapy services for the treatment of spinal pain, sports injuries as well as general rehabilitation.  In addition to this Andrew has a specialised interest in pain management for, in particular orofacial pain and temporomandibular joint (TMJ ) disorders.

Charmaine Pollard

Charmaine completed her training as an occupational therapist in South Africa in 1978. She worked in the Acute Burns Management, Paediatrics, and neurology before moving to New Zealand in 1996.

Charmaine finished her training as a hand therapist while working at Palmerston North hospital and established the hand therapy service at the hospital

She has worked as a hand therapist for 15 years and is a full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association. Her areas of speciality include trauma and burns.

Charmaine works across practices in Barton and Bruce.

Ella Borgeaud

Ella is a Physiotherapist passionate about running. If you are a runner wanting to improve your technique, performance, recover from injury, or prevent injury, Ella is your Physio.

She has a Masters of Physiotherapy, and a Bachelor of Sport Coaching & Exercise Science from the University of Canberra.

Ella is the 2020-2021 assistant Physiotherapist for the Canberra Capitals, and has previously worked with Wests Rugby, Australian Rules Football and Touch Football teams, and travelled internationally with Triathlon Australia squads.

In her spare time, you can find her running or cycling around Canberra, or supporting her AFL team, GWS Giants.

She has completed further training in Level 1 Sports Physiotherapy, Dry Needling and Level 1 Pilates Matwork.

Kiara Frith studied physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University in Orange and is currently completing a Masters in Musculoskeletal Health.
She is currently part of the team at Bathurst Physio, and has special interests in clinical pilates and dance physiotherapy.

Louise O'brien

Louise travels fortnightly (Thursday and Friday) with The Royal Flying Doctor Service to provide physiotherapy services to our Medical Centre. Louise also provides Telehealth consultations when she isn’t in our medical centre.

During your initial appointment, you can expect a comprehensive physical assessment and discussion to get a detailed understanding of your pain or injury. The most appropriate treatment will be discussed and given at your first appointment. Treatment may involve a mix of hands-on therapy, education and appropriate exercises to get you back to full fitness. 

Her special interests range from treating pelvic, lower back and neck pain as well as headaches, sporting injuries and exercise rehabilitation. Manual therapy forms the foundation of her treatment techniques, and includes the McKenzie Method, muscle energy technique, and various soft tissue massage therapies. Louise’s commitment to continuing professional development ensures that her patients receive the most proven and up-to-date treatment. 

Louise has a establish physiotherapy clinic in Balmain Sydney since 2010 to provide more personalised care for her patients after growing another successful physiotherapy practice for 10 years in Rozelle.

Louise graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 2003. Since graduating Louise has worked in a variety of health settings at The Canberra Hospital, in Community Health Centres, injury prevention & management unit in ACT Health and in private practice around Canberra gaining experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions.

Louise began working in the specialty area of hand physiotherapy in 2006 and was soon to realise that this is where her interest laid. In 2013 Louise completed USA based specialisation exams in hand therapy to become the first Certified Hand Therapist in Canberra.

In 2010 Louise established a hand physiotherapy service at SportsCare and Physiotherapy, originally at Garran in partnership with the University of Canberra Physiotherapy student led clinic. A few years later the clinic was relocated to Barton and is now a hand clinic team with 4 hand therapists. The speciality service expanded to the north side of Canberra in partnership with Ochre Health at the Bruce campus in 2015.

Louise is involved with the local hands special interest group and presents at sports course run through the Australian Physiotherapy Association and GP training workshops. She also is passionate about creating the ideal workplace for her staff to stimulate learning and furthering the awareness of hand therapy in the Canberra community and surrounding areas through education and support.

Paul Roebuck

Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy)

Paul graduated from the University of South Australia in 1997 and originally hails from Lithgow.

Professional interests: low back and neck pain, persistent pain and longstanding complex patient problems, swimming and running injuries.

Paul has 20 years experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries. He has worked in Australia, UK (Liverpool and Edinburgh) and also Germany (working with the British military).

Outside of work Paul enjoys most sports including swimming, cycling, running and supporting Liverpool football club!

Robert Taylor

Robert graduated from the University of Canberra with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2008 after completing an undergraduate degree in Medical Science from the Australian National University. Rob is currently undertaking a Masters of Sport Physiotherapy at La Trobe University.

Since graduating, Rob has spent his time working in private practice in Canberra and Queensland. During his time in Queensland, Rob had the opportunity to work with the AIS including the Australian Kayaking and Swim Teams and QAS athletes of all kinds. Rob has also spent many years working in rugby union as a team physiotherapist, including some time working with international sevens and local Canberra rugby teams. Rob has a strong interest in all sporting injuries, particularly complex hip and shoulder injuries, team sports and all forms of gym training and weightlifting.

Rob’s love of power sports comes from a background of previously competing at a national level in rowing and rugby union.  Rob is currently returning to weightlifting when he’s not running around after his kids.

Shelley Van Dorp

Shelley grew up with a love for sports and a fascination with the workings of the human body, leading her to study Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Physiotherapy with the University of Sydney.  In addition, Shelley has also done further studies in Pain management, Spine health, Pilates, Dry Needling and Women’s Health.

Shelley loves working with children and people with disabilities. She has spent extensive time researching and practicing in persistent pain rehabilitation, and believes understanding your diagnosis is crucial for recovery. Shelley is passionate about educating and empowering people with simple effective pain management strategies for long term solutions.

When not working Shelley is studying, hiking or doing art.
