Dr Ben Hanson

Dr Ben Hanson is a highly trained and internationally experienced Specialist in Family Medicine. He has lived locally for the past 20 years and is strongly connected to the region. He is the Medical Coordinator and Primary GP Supervisor at Ochre Medical Centre Lithgow.

He is a PRIVATE BILLING doctor based on the fees recommended by the Australian Medical Association. He DOES NOT BULK BILL Medicare consultations, but will bulk bill care plans and health assessments for all eligible patients, and bulk bills all DVA gold card holders.

Dr Ben has more than 28 years of clinical experience, mainly as a family physician in Australia and the Middle East. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Royal Society of Medicine in the UK. He has extensive experience in teaching and supervising medical students and medical colleagues.

Besides an MBBS from the University of Sydney, Dr. Ben also holds a Masters in General Practice Psychiatry from Monash University. This degree gave him exceptional skills in diagnosing and managing stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, assistance with body image, family, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. He has a strong focus on early diagnosis and preventative health, and providing personalized quality of care for his patients.
