Dr Wilkinson graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Wollongong in 2012.

Prior to completing his medical degree, Dr Wilkinson completed a Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Education.

For the past seven years he has worked in public and private hospitals in the Illawarra region, including Wollongong Hospital, where he has worked extensively in renal medicine and emergency medicine as well as completing a term with the Infectious Diseases team.
